A true, small town experience on busy Hwy. 12. Only 6 people at a time in the shop. This allows to hear people in line, commenting about local history, sausage flavors available & preferred selections. Packaging is tight and well identified. Bought bacon, breakfast links, smoked Dakota & hot Italian sausages, & teriyaki jerky.
Have been making the 1.2hr drive here for almost 10 years. Hands down the best sausage in NorCal. Especially like when we get close to Christmas and the holiday sausages are available. Hard to call out a favorite type of sausage since they are all excellent, but my must haves are the JalapeƱo, potato, Bavarian, fresh Dakota and bangers. You can't go wrong with any of the options. Be prepared for a long line on the weekends
Would recommend going early always a line. The meats are tasty the sausages are huge and long . Absolutely delicious.
Based on friendsā recommendation, we waited 40min in line on a Friday afternoon for a chance to purchase these raving sausages. The price ranges at $6.89 to $8 per pound. We got a sample of 4 for most type of sausages. Staffs are nice and efficient but they can only allow 6 persons inside the store to line up for ordering. Most spaces are reserved for warehouse.. just a tiny front part of the warehouse is reserved to sell sausages.
This place is amazing! The fair sausages are delicious. Home made bacon is awesome. All of the sausages that we have tried are great. Highly recommend! You will most likely stand in line outside for a while but don't let that detour you.
Update 6/2023: Some employees are slow, rude and not attentive to the customers at all which is undoubtedly why the line takes as long as it does. We waited 1 1/2 hours to give them our money. Still awesome sausages though.
Fyi, the fair sausages are the smoked Smoked Dakota Bratwurst.
Update 10/2023: Everyone in my family loves the Hawaiian sausages except for me. Jalapeno sausages are flavorful and delicious, not crazy spicy but enough to avoid if you don't like any spicy. Landjaeger sticks are really good, not super fatty like most sticks. Honestly it's hard to go wrong here. Not too much of a wait today.
People come from near and far to get themselves some Lockeford Sausage. Lines get long but itās worth the wait. People ask, Whatās your favorite Sausage? My reply, all of them. But if I have to choose I choose the Spicy Luau. They have beef jerky, beef sticks, tri-tip, chorizo, sauces, seasoning and of course sausage. I give them 5 stars

Sausage is delicious, women working the counter need trained on hospitality and KINDNESS.
I didnāt think there was a minimum order requirement OR a dress code. Now I know itās one of those āunwritten codesā. Sharing so others donāt come in too dressed up, with too much makeup or ordering too small of an order and get treated like I did. Also, maybe donāt look mixed.
